About us & our home

Une photo de John et Jane, les propriétaires de Pauliac Chambre d'Hotes.

We came to France 30 years ago with our 2 small boys. We loved it so much we have stayed and stayed, building and developing our B&B over the years.

Our rooms blend simple traditional farmhouse style with modern sparks of colour and materials. We are in the countryside so we offer meals- there’s no need to drive to find somewhere to eat. I find it hard to compromise when it comes to food, so be assured of good quality and eclectic food.

We like people to feel at home so we want you to enjoy the garden and the surrounding countryside, and in the evening, if you are hungry, to eat at our large table on the veranda.

Pauliac & the Dordogne

Green and yellow meadows in the Dordogne.

There’s dramatic countryside nearby, perfect for walking, cycling or resting. Pauliac is close to the small towns of Verteillac and Ribérac in the Département of the Dordogne.  The capital of the Dordogne is Périgueux (35 kms). Here narrow cool lanes open onto sunny café-filled squares.

If you want to explore  further, celebrated Brantôme and medieval Bourdeilles are close by as is Aubeterre-sur-Dronne with its unusual monolithic church. UNESCO listed prehistoric sites along the Dordogne and Vezère rivers are only an hour’s drive away from us.

Bordeaux and its wine hinterland are also easily accessible. Saint Emilion is especially worth visiting.

However, if you want to go nowhere you can laze about in our garden. We have truly beautiful views over the valley and an unusual stone pool into which you can leap to cool off.

We’ve plenty of space and love catering for big groups!
